Wisconsin Water Tanks Version 1.0

file of all of the known water tanks in the state of Wisconsin Release date: 5-1-23. To keep things simple, and because I have done multiple states using the same objects, there are NO scenery object libraries in the individual state packages. You will need only one library file, a package named fimwaters available HERE. Without the package installed in your community folder you will not see any of the water towers First, some disclaimers: The water tanks are models from previous FS versions converted to the MSFS format, so they are not as "realistic" as some of the objects that ship with the sim. For the most part, the water tanks replace some of the "blobs" you see in the stock scenery when they are actually rendered. The tanks are all "generic" but I have tried to match the general structure and color of the actual tanks in real life whenever possible. Some of the water tanks that are replaced or added have small "exclude" files so they don't conflict with the stock rendered objects like buildings and such rendered by the AI scenery engine in MSFS. If you look closely at some of the tanks, you will see the "ghost" image and shadows of the actual tower on the bing map ground image. There is NO lighting on the water tanks at all, and they are not crash coded... in other words you can fly through them as you can with some of the "power towers" coded into the sim. The water towers are what I could find after scouring google maps images statewide. As you probably know, there are NO water towers in the stock MSFS with the exception of tanks rendered in photogammetry areas, and a great deal of these tanks render rather oddly. Location data for the positions of tanks comes from Google Maps predominantly. Some of the tanks are quite old, and may have been removed or replaced since google images were taken. The FAA obstruction database is very spotty when it comes to water tanks, so hand coding was extensive.
